All your Questions, Answered
How are wines selected each month? Can I choose them?
Chris selects the wines each month. They’re always a reflection of things he’s passionate about, wine he’s pouring for his own inner circle of friends and family, and bottles he thinks you might not pick up on your own but wants you to experience. Some of his choices transcend seasons, but don’t worry he’ll make sure you’re drinking the right thing throughout the year.
So no you can’t choose, but if you have wine questions, dreams or desires, our door and inbox are always open.
I just signed up. When can I expect my first shipment?
Welcome! Monthly shipment cutoffs are always the end of the previous month. So if you signed up on September 29, you’ll be in the Leon Circle starting in October. If you signed up on October 5, you’ll be in the Leon Circle starting in November.
We ship the second week of each month. Depending on how far you live from Brooklyn you can expect your wine to arrive the end of the second week or beginning of the third week of each month. You’ll get an email once your Leon Circle box ships, and your package will typically arrive within 10 business days. The length of shipping will vary depending on your location, but you will receive updated estimates via Fedex tracking.
If you live locally we will send an email the second week of the month when Leon Circle packages are ready for in-store pickup or local delivery.
What if there’s a problem with one of the wines?
For better or worse wine requires a little TLC to make sure it’s tasting right when you pull the cork. It’s best stored in a cool dark place, preferably on its side. If you have any questions about the best way to keep your wine fresh please reach out! If you have any questions about how the wine is tasting, definitely reach out to us at info@leoncircle.com.
What if I don’t like the taste of one of the wines. Can I get a refund?
We’re excited to share new wines with you and we certainly hope you enjoy them all. But we also strongly believe that tasting a full spectrum of styles and profiles is an important part of learning what you love (so you can drink well always, anywhere, forever - that’s the goal).
So strictly speaking, we don’t issue refunds for bottles you aren’t digging. But if there’s something you really don’t love we want to know so please reach out to us at info@leoncircle.com.
If you’re hankering for a specific profile or style of wine you can find our full Leon & Son inventory on leonandsonwine.com, or reach out to us and we’d be happy to put together a custom pack for you.
What is your return and refund policy?
New York State law only permits us to accept the return of goods that are defective. For such returns we can offer a replacement of the same item, refund a credit card, or we can issue a store credit. If you think you have received a faulty bottle, please bring it back to our store on Fulton St. For shipping orders, please contact us at info@leoncircle.com
Do you ship everywhere?
As a Leon Circle member you are a customer of Leon & Son Wine and Spirits. Customers contract with the shipping carrier, and Leon & Son will engage on behalf of the customer. In the case of shipments outside New York State, the sole responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests with the customer. If we are unable to ship to your area, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and suggest that shipping be arranged to a direct-shipping friendly state. Please email us at info@leoncircle.com if you have questions.
All packages must be signed for by and adult aged 21+. The buyer hereby agrees to take sole responsibility for complying with all laws regarding importation of alcohol into your state. Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from Leon & Son Wine to buyer in the State of New York, which is why we charge New York sales tax on your order.
Can I give a Leon Circle membership as a gift?
Absolutely! What a great gift idea. You can gift a Leon Circle membership as a gift here.
I live in Brooklyn near your shop, can I get Leon Circle delivered for free?
Because of the logistics of releasing wine to so many people at once, we don't offer free local delivery on Leon Circle. We have either free in-store pickup, or we can ship for $30/month.
That said we are always happy to include Leon Circle wine with other Leon & Son delivery orders. A lot of our local wine club members take advantage of that. If you want to too, just leave a note on any delivery-eligible Leon & Son order asking us to include club wine in the delivery.
What if I’m not home to accept a shipment?
Again with the laws. All deliveries containing alcohol require an adult signature (21+) upon receipt. You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase and receive wine. If you’re not home then someone will need to be there to sign for it because your delivery person can’t leave it.
Do you ship in the summer months?
During the hottest months of the year shipping gets a little more complicated. Wines that are shipped in extreme temperatures can be easily damaged. So for July and August we monitor the weather nationally to make sure that your wine doesn't get cooked and damaged in transit. We won't be shipping everything automatically, only where we can guarantee the wine will arrive safely, or where we have access to refrigerated shipping. If this is not possible in your area, we will happily hold the wines until the weather cools! Feel free to give us a shout at info@leoncircle.com if you would like to chance it and have them shipped anyway, but please know that we will be unable to replace wines that are negatively affected.
Can I change my credit card info?
